The castle is owned Lisennes family's 50 hectares vineyard is located on the outskirts of Bordeaux and the three varietals Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon are also represented. Annual production is approximately 300 tons (360 000 bottles).
The name "Lisennes" first appeared in 1758. The origin of the name likely comes from the former french "Lise", already used by Rabelais to designate land for nature clay and limestone.
The main building type: "chartreuse" date of the XVIII th century, and Jean Laporte who will give its final touches during the Revolution by building a beautiful wrought iron gate that appears on all our labels.
Several owners have succeeded until 1938, when Jean-Leon SOUBIE moved to Braids. Our family cultivates the vineyard with love for four generations.
The culture of the vine favors traditional methods. On drained soil, mastery of rendements remains the main objective. Vinification is led by Jean-Pierre SOUBIE, oenologist, assisted by competent staff. The temperature-controlled fermentation are followed by long maceration. The wines then staying several months in oak barrels before bottling the castle. These bottles are then stored in local insulated to shipping.
